With no measurable rain since May 10th (it’s now July 26th) I wanted to snap shot the spring flow for record keeping.
Right now the spring is setup with a catch tub. This is for the animals to drink from since it is only four feet from their path. It’s also there so I can record the flow rates. Right now it’s 1/4 gallons per minute or 15 gallons a hour. The spring seeps from a 120′ wide stretch and this pipe only catches eight feet of that into a valley of sorts. If somehow we could catch it all it would be more like 8 gallons a minute or 500 a hour.
Today the skies are blowing and dark at times but it seems someone stole the moisture. It just isn’t raining, hmmm.
